May 02, 2021
On Saturday, May 1, 2021, members of the Broadway community gathered on the steps of the New York Public Library in Bryant Park, midtown Manhattan, to rally and march in protest of racial inequity and discrimination in the theater industry on Broadway, and across the country. The event, Broadway United for Racial Justice, was held in coalition with UNITE NY, and presented a roster of notable theater actors and creatives who spoke at Bryant Park, and at stops including Shubert Alley and Columbus Circle, along the march route which snaked it's way from 42nd St, through the Theater District, to it's conclusion near Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It is my privilege to share some of the images it was my great pleasure to have captured at that transformative event.
